Stephen Soucy

is a film director at Modernist Film and produces theater via Stephen Soucy Productions.

His feature documentary film, Merchant Ivory is executive produced by Academy Award-winning director and screenwriter, James Ivory and Charles S. Cohen, Chairman and CEO of Cohen Media Group.

Merchant Ivory was sold to Cohen Media Group for worldwide distribution. The film was released theatrically in the U.S. in fall 2024 and in the U.K. via Curzon Film, December 2024. The film is eligible for the Academy Award and the BAFTA. HanWay is handling International Sales.

Stephen is co-lead and a managing producer of the Off-Broadway-bound, Romy and Michele The Musical.

Film projects in development include: Orientation, an original screenplay; The Term Paper Artist, adapted from the novella by David Leavitt (awaiting rights approval), and Grief, adapted from Andrew Holleran’s novel (awaiting rights approval).
